It took 9 hours to be seen in the A&E department during this time I was given the wrong information about when I would be seen up until 7 hours in when I was told that I would need to wait for the daytime team to arrive in the morning. I was told try to get some sleep and given a pillow and blanket to sleep on the floor.
All staff carried out their duties, both medical and caring, to patients in the most professional and very friendly manner at all times.
Their tasks were carried out under pressure at times but they always provided the care necessary and occasionally to patients who posed particular difficulties.
They sometimes had time for a bit of laughter with the patients , which is excellent therapy.
I was in the hospital for nine weeks and during that time spent time on B14 and A3 where the treatment I received was to the same high standard.
My discharge was completed in a thorough manner and the follow up services arranged for me are progressing well.
I hope these comments will be forwarded to the staff involved.
A male nurse at reception was extremely helpful with checking in.
I was seen by Samina who was friendly, helpful and who went out of her way to make me feel confident about using my new hearing aid.
Found the staff very professional, very cheerful and put me at my ease.
All staff where excellent looking after me with great care and attention, could not be better.
Would recommend to anyone coming in for eye care great service.
The paramedics that came to my home (Jason and Martin) were fantastic. Very professional and gave me good care and support on my way to A&E. It’s unfortunate that they weren’t there to support me once at hospital because the treatment received was shocking. I waited 2hrs 5 minutes to see triage - was told to let the receptionist know if I had any more swelling following my allergic reaction. I did so told her and she forgot to tell the nurse so had to speak to her again. Was then left in a triage room alone for 20 minutes until a doctor was available. Then waited a further 2 hours to receive treatment and medication. Unprofessional staff discussing fake tan and aftershave rather than looking after patients. The receptionist actually laughed at a patient that checked in after me. She was a disgrace to the NHS.
All positive, just took time (which I understand why)
Friendly and caring staff
The staff were lovely and deserved much more than milk tray . Lovely staff . Thank you
Attend A&E on the advice of my Gp practice.
No one at reception...waited 10mins before I walked off to find somebody to help!
Then waited over an hour to go into what they called a "room" to see the nurse i opened the door to find a small cupboard which had a curtain on the other side which was open during my whole consultation... other Drs, nurses and patients were sat listening to everything...then once explained my injury to my R knee... the nurse told me to go to another department (never onced touched me to see the injury or feel my knee I still had my jeans on so how she could see my injury to refer me correctly to the right department was beyond me)
Then waited another 2hours to be seen by another nurse....to be told I shouldn't have come to A&e and my Gp surgry had given me the wrong advice I was then told to go back to my Gp surgry for further help. (Given an exercise sheet to help streghen my knee).
Absoutly ridiculous.... from the minute I entered Warrington hospital it was a disgrace to the minute I left.
Even down to them not having hand sanitizers round the hospital, I asked at a&e if they had hand washing or hand sanitizer and was told by reception only wards have them! I have spent many years in hospitals all over Manchester with my knee and other problems and I have never once made a complaint or had any issues with a Manchester hospital but I was shocked to see how warrington hospital runs things!
I will now be asking to be referred back to wythensawe hospital as they seem to know what they are doing and are all very professional staff. Unlike warrington hospital.
